We’re now more than five weeks into the new year and there has been little movement by church furniture manufacturers to raise prices for 2010. In a random survey of 50 prominent church furnishing manufacturers, I found only 12 that have raised prices this year subtantially over 2009. That’s great news for churches. However, I’ve heard from several that they’re prepared to raise prices at any point during the year should production costs should rise suddenly due to increased commodity prices (petroleum based products, wood and steel).
If you’re thinking of a substantial furnishing purchase, the first few months of 2010 might be the time to do so. Be sure and check out Church Furniture Partner to help the dollars you do have available for furnishings maximize what can be purchased.
